Special Event Request

All persons and/or organizations that would like to hold a special event within the City of Big Rapids may need a permit to do so. You can download a copy of the policy, requirements, and fillable form from this link for the Special Events Request and Policy. 

Once completed you must submit the form in the required timeline set forth by the policy of the City of Big Rapids (see included instructions on the form.) The form can be submitted directly, by mail, or email to the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety, 435 N. Michigan Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307.

All efforts to follow up with the submitter will be taken to advise of the receipt of the form, however there is no guarantee, you may have to contact the Department for follow up. The completion of the City of Big Rapids Special Events Permit does not include the use of the White Pine Trail. For that, you will need to contact the DNR Supervisor for the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Linear Park for instructions on how to complete their permit. Their phone number is 231-775-7911.
