Union Information

Our police officers and sergeants are represented by the Police Officer Labor Council Patrol and Supervisory unit. Each union is represented through a union leadership consisting of a president and vice president and both unions are represented financially by one union treasurer.

Each union representation negotiates with the City of Big Rapids independently for common items such as but not limited to:

Salary
Holidays
Vacation and Sick Leave
Compensatory and Holiday Pay
Duty Shifts
Education Reimbursement

Some Items are not negotiated but require Union representation to the City of Big Rapids those items include:

Health Care
Dental and Vision Care
Retirement
