Fiscal Accountability and Transparency
The City of Big Rapids is committed to fiscal accountability and transparency. This page is designed to keep members of the community and other stakeholders informed on the progression and performance of the City.
City, Village, and Township Revenue Sharing (CVTRS)
The State of Michigan instituted the CVTRS program to replace the Economic Vitality Incentive Program (EVIP). The CVTRS program requires local governmental units to meet certain criteria in order to qualify for revenue sharing payments. The purpose of the program is to establish a standard level of accountability and transparency for municipalities. The following documents provide a level of fiscal transparency and insight into key operational performance metrics.
- Certification of Accountability and Transparency: form submitted to the State of Michigan certifying compliance with the CVTRS program.
- Citizens Guide: provides a comparative and trend analysis of General Fund finances, as well as pension funding information.
- Performance Dashboard: provides a comparative analysis of financial and quality of life measures for the City of Big Rapids.
- Debt Service Report: provides detailed information on all outstanding City debt.
- Projected Budget Report: provides a summary of the General Fund's current year budget and a projection of the following fiscal year's budget.
