The purpose of the Big Rapids Garden Club shall be to promote a greater interest in gardening and to exchange experiences that shall be of mutual benefit to its members; to take an active interest in conservation and protection of our natural environment, especially of wild flowers, tree and bird life; to stimulate activity in civic improvement; and to encourage in our children the love and respect of nature.  Our gardening projects include maintaining the landscapes at Hemlock Park Playscape, Historic Old Jail, Historic Bergelin House, Blue Star By-Way in Holland Park and the Rain Garden including a Monarch Waystation located along the Riverwalk near the pavilion at the east end of Bridge Street in Big Rapids.  We also are involved in the Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary and provide a scholarship to Ferris State University annually and trees to the city in memory of late members.  Please see us on Facebook.
