Area of Service

The Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Fire Division provides professional fire, rescue and EMS services to a large coverage area.  The fire division currently provides medical and fire coverage to the City of Big Rapids, Green Charter Township, and Barton and Norwich Townships in Newaygo County.  The fire division also provides medical and rescue service to the west half of Colfax Township, the west half of Grant Township and is an automatic mutual aid department to Colfax, Big Rapids Township fire and Mecosta-Austin Fire departments.
