Prospective bidders will not be able to attend the bid opening as City Hall is currently closed to visitors due to COVID-19 guidelines. A virtual bid opening is scheduled for Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Sealed Bids will be received via email to adunkel@cityofbr.org, as a scanned PDF attachment, until 2:00 p.m. local time, Monday, March 8, 2021. A virtual meeting link will be provided prior to the date of the bid opening. Original bidding documents shall be shipped next day air to the issuing office: City of
Big Rapids Treasurer’s Office Attn: Ashley Dunkel located at 226 N. Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids, Michigan 49307. Bidders will not be held responsible for overnight delivery service delays as long as the documents were shipped. Next day air original bidding documents shall be post marked by Saturday March 6, 2021.

As-read bid results will be posted at https://www.cityofbr.org Tuesday, March 9, 2021. 

Items of work include approximately 1200 feet of road reconstruction including 800 feet of 8-inch watermain placement, 800 feet of storm sewer placement, HMA surfacing and valley gutter slope restoration and all related work.

Bids will be accepted only from Plan Holders of Record. In order to be a Plan Holder of Record Bidding Documents must be obtained from the Issuing Office.
Bidding Documents are available to be emailed in portable document format (PDF) at no charge.

Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained for a non-refundable payment of $150.00, plus a non-refundable payment of $40.00 for mailing.
The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. The City will not be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.  Bidding Documents may be examined at the following locations:

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The City of Big Rapids reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the City of Big Rapids.
